About Dr. Oscar Oo

Oscar Oo, Psy.D., ABPP, FAACP is a Diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Psychology and Clinical Child & Adolescent Psychology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology.
Dr. Oo provides psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children of various backgrounds which includes age, gender, ethnicity, culture, religion, orientation, ability, and socioeconomic status.
Dr. Oo believes in using evidence-based, cognitive behavioral practices when appropriate to help promote the best outcome.

Dr. Oo holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine along with degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from California State University, Long Beach. He went on to attend the California School of Professional Psychology and received his Doctor of Psychology degree.

Dr. Oo is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in the specialty areas of both Clinical Psychology and Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology.

In addition to treating mood and anxiety disorders, Dr. Oo has had experience in working with dual diagnosis adults and adolescents in hospital settings and chemical dependency and substance abuse treatment facilities. Dr. Oo also has experience, professional training, and certification in working with adults, adolescents, and children who have suffered acute and complex trauma. Additionally, Dr. Oo enjoys working with undergraduate and graduate students whose mental health concerns are interfering with the academic and professional goals.

Dr. Oo completed his post-doctoral internship at the Child Guidance Center in Santa Ana, CA and is a certified Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) provider. Triple P focuses on positive relationship building and relationship enhancement to help improve behavioral and parent-child relationships. While at the Child Guidance Center, Dr. Oo was also trained into Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and was a trainer for the evidence-based practice, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorders.
